NZ Institute of Highway Technology

The NZ Institute of Highway Technology Ltd was founded in 1992 by the Western Institute of Technology at Taranaki (formerly the Taranaki Polytechnic) as the Institute of Roading Technology to fill a gap in skills and technical training caused by the deregulation of the civil construction industry and the demise of the Ministry of Works in the early 1990's.

The NZ Institute of Highway Technology places a strong emphasis in providing quality programs based on industry needs and utilizes a permanent staff of fifteen. Its network of independent consultants who are experts in their respective fields, ensures courses reflect current industry practice and incorporate latest advances in technology.
