  • Knox College
Knox is not a College for the faint-hearted. Its residents have lofty goals. They want to succeed academically, so the hard work necessary to get a good Otago degree is taken very seriously. It’s also a College where the residents make the most of life – there’s lots of sport, not all of it very serious, and there’s a lot of quite robust social life. There’s also a love of tradition and ritual that is not often found these days, and an impressive amount of cultural activity. Knoxies are friendly and supportive of each other – their competitive instincts only come to the fore when they are battling rival colleges in sporting and cultural events...

  • Massey University
Massey University is one of only a few vet schools outside North America that have received American Veterinary Medical Association(AVMA) accreditation for their veterinary degree. This means that in addition to our graduates being able to work in New Zealand, UK, Australia, South Africa, Singapore and Hong Kong they can also work in Canada and the USA. The Massey University veterinary degree is a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree (BVSc) which is recognised by the AVMA as being equivalent to a DVM from an accredited North American university. The MAJOR advantage of this to you is that it will allow you to work in the USA/Canada as if you had graduated from one of the North American veterinary schools/colleges and you will NOT have to complete the US Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduate (ECFVG) programme requirements (either a 4 day practical or 1 year of supervised training)...

  • Cardrona Hotel
The township of Cardrona Hotel began in 1865, when hundreds of settlers came to the Cardrona Valley, eager to stake their claim. As word got around, the settlement quickly developed and a commercial centre was soon formed. Within three years there were four hotels, three European stores, four Chinese stores, four butcheries, one blacksmith and a baker. As the years passed, Cardrona expanded and by 1871 the population was such that it had become the centre of the butchery trade in Central Otago. Cardrona remained an important commercial centre through the 1870s and 1880s, although it fluctuated with the changing fortunes of the mining industry. The Cardrona Hotel, Annexe and adjoining General Store are now the only remaining buildings from the early gold rush days...

  • CANTEACH
CANTEACH is the Official Canadian agent for Universities in Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland and Wales (exclusively). CANTEACH was created for Canadians who want to do their Teachers College in Australia, New Zealand, Scotland or Wales to obtain their teacher certification. As a Canadian, who has studied and taught abroad, I am aware of the many benefits that this type of experience has to offer. During my time teaching at a teachers college in Buffalo, NY, I was amazed at the length and effort students would go to to obtain their teaching certificate. When I moved to New Zealand, it became apparent that Canadians needed to come down under. Europe was also a destination that has many benefits for studying abroad, especially England, Scotland and Wales. The many benefits Australia, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales have to offer are the wonderful people and country, taking part in the world class training programs for preparting Teachers and Professionals, tuition cost as well as experiencing a different culture and to travel. I set up the process for Canadians to attend my Representative Australian, New Zealand, Scottish and Welsh Universities to be able to obtain their teaching certificate abroad and back to Canada...
